Bill
Bill began his music interest in fourth grade playing trumpet. In Fifth grade he changed to Tuba and continued playing tuba, singing, and acting through high school. In 1972 he went into the U.S. Navy and completed the Navy School of music in 1973 where he played tuba and electric bass. He was assigned to the Navy Band in Newport Rhode Island where he toured New England, in a Rock Band Called ?Long Island Sound?. They played the top 40?s in '73-'76 which is much of the music played by ATF today. After the navy he earned a degree in Music Therapy, went on to earn a MA in Rehabilitation Counseling, and presently is an Insurance defense Attorney in Denver. He has played with multiple jazz bands, concert bands, Ft. Collins Symphony, Jefferson Symphony, Timberline Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, and brass quintets. When you can do something you love to do, with people you have a great time with, and help many people by playing for charity events, life is good!

Doug
Doug started playing drums in elementary school. In 7th grade band there were so many drummers that he decided to switch instruments. At the time, the band director needed a tuba player. So, Doug started playing tuba through out junior and senior high school. While in high school, he auditioned for State Honor Band and State Honor Orchestra. Doug was selected to both groups. While in high school, Doug continued playing drums outside of school. He wanted to switch back to drums in the high school concert and marching bands, but the band director at the time wouldn't allow it. He was allowed to play in the school's jazz band though. After graduation, Doug attended college and it was there that he was able to switch back to the drums. He performed in the college Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Band.
Doug has been playing drums in After the Fire for over 10 years. He has performed in Los Angeles, Reno, Wichita Jazz Festival, Fullerton Jazz Festival, Disneyland, with the Bronco Band, Alan Wise Quartet, and freelanced in the Denver area. Doug spent 13 years performing in Northern Colorado with the Just for Kicks Big Band, which he co-founded, before deciding to join After the Fire.
In his spare time, Doug enjoys spending time with his family and building custom wood snare drums. Doug is married and has 3 children.

Joe
I got my first guitar for my 10th birthday and that started a path that saw Rock bands through High School. Then a jazz fusion band that was popular in the midwest playing gigs with a number of diverse artist such as Buddy Rich, Brian Auger, Rick James,Woody Herman, and others. Moving to Colorado in the 80's I played with a Fort Collins R&B band "Snap" for a number of years. "After the Fire is fulfilling for a couple of reasons. I get a chance to play with great musicians and be part of a philanthropic group that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for all types of charities all over Northern Colorado."

Don
Don amazes audiences with his Hammond organ solos. One of his favorite songs to perform, while at home, is Cher's Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves. Don was raised on a farm and helped cut hay in his spare time. One of Don's favorite pastimes, since retiring, is traveling to Disneyland and riding the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. Recently, Don has started playing bingo at his nearby bingo parlor.

Michelle
Michelle is one of three vocalists featured with After the Fire. She reigns from New Zealand where she performed opera with the local musicians. Since moving to Loveland she has dreamed of one day owning her own opera house. In the mean time she worked with saxophone Mike in the Lenny Snoder’s Polka Band for a short time. After the band broke up, she joined After the Fire. She still practices her opera in the backyard with complete astonishment from the neighbors.

Alan
Alan started his trumpet fun in 6th grade concert band. After many years of marching band, all-state band festivals, he put the trumpet away for a number of years except at Christmas carol time. Eventually, the urge (and time) to play returned and he joined and still plays with the Stover Street Stompers. The Stompers is a church-based Dixieland jazz band playing at churches along the Front Range and at various charity events. Alan really enjoys the music and mission of After the Fire. When not trumpeting, Alan plays tennis and enjoys his family--wife and two grown boys--all of whom have also played trumpet at various times.
